ASUS India with IDLDPL unveils yet another new P750 PDA phone.

ASUS India with IDLDPL, (India Digital Life Style Distributors Pvt. Ltd) has launched its latest PDA phone, the P750. The P750 is a fully loaded Tri-Band GSM PDA phone with GPS and Wi-Fi, 3.5G with HSDPA and Bluetooth connectivity with A2DP. This model is also the winner of the 2007 Japan G-Mark Award.

The new gadget will be equipped with powerful processor and 3.2 MP camera. The new ASUS P750 runs on the basis of Marvell PXA27x processor with clock frequency of 520 MHz under control of an operating system Windows Mobile 6 Professional and contain 64 MB of memory device, also 256 MB, used for storage programs and others. For more memory, you can always add microSD card. The Smartphone is equipped with TFT screen with a diagonal of 2, 8 inches and resolution of 240x320 pixels, and also with built in 3, 2-megapixel camera with autofocus.

One of the basic features of the device is the presence of GPS chips SiRFstar III. ASUS P750 supports cellular network standards GSM / GPRS / EDGE and UMTS / HSDPA as well. Communication opportunities are also provided by Bluetooth 2.0 module, wireless interface 802.11b, 802.11g and USB port used for synchronization with others, including personal computers, devices.

The ASUS P750 is powered by a 520MHz Marvell processor PXA270M and runs on Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional. It is a GSM tri-band GPRS / EDGE and 3G/HSDPA connectivity supporting download speeds of up to 3.6Mbps suitable network coverage. The device has 256 MB of flash ROM and 64 MB of SDRAM. After a hard reset, our review sample reported 147MB of free memory. This can be supplemented by microSD cards, the ASUS P750 supports SDHC, which means it can support high-capacity (2GB) cards.

Both Wi-Fi (802.11b / g) and Bluetooth (2.0 + EDR) are integrated, and a SiRFstar III GPS receiver completes a full suite of options for wireless connectivity for the P750 - WAN, LAN, PAN and satellite . ASUS provides two GPS-aware applications. Place Mail lets you send an SMS containing your latitude and longitude to up to five recipients at once. You can send messages manually or set up the software to automatically send positioning information at regular intervals. The second application, called Travelog, your GPS footprint as you travel. This can be exported in a format suitable for use with Google Earth.

The ASUS P750 has two cameras. The first VGA resolution camera mounted on top of the screen is designed primarily for video calls, while the main camera is on the back of the unit. This is a 3-megapixel unit that lacks both a self-portrait mirror and a flash, but offers a good range of settings (for a handheld) and an auto-focus. The auto-focus mode is handy when using the global map of the application, which converts a photo of a business card in an entry in the contacts database. This works surprisingly well.

Other applications are grouped Remote Presenter, which lets you control PowerPoint presentations via Bluetooth, an RSS reader, a utility for backup and restore; My Secrets for keeping documents, photos and video in an area protected by password and a graphical icon-oriented alternative to the Windows Mobile Today screen.

Regarding the P750's battery life is, ASUS claims 6 hours of 2G talk, and 240 hours of 3G standby. We used the automatic mode in our battery test, which involves setting the P750 to play music non-stop from a microSD card with the screen forced to stay on. In these circumstances, the management just over 12 hours. The battery life is impressive for a Windows Mobile 6 Professional device, although realistic usage patterns of a mixture of GPS, Wi-Fi and 3G mean that you will have the chance to achieve in practice.
